A study funded by the National Institute of Health demonstrated this new technology to be significantly more effective at reducing friction than ten other commonly used products. Temple University School of Podiatry performed a study involving 100 subjects who walked 20 miles in warm rainy conditions. These walkers developed 5 times more blisters in areas not protected by the Blist-O-Ban. Field-tests involving special operations soldiers and competitive athletes also confirmed these laboratory studies.

HOW IT WORKS
When a force is applied to the skin, the central dome collapses and produces a gliding movement, effectively redirecting the pressure vector away from the area protected. If movement exceeds the distance the dome can glide, the low friction polyethylene material will reduce friction experienced over the affected area. The area under the BursaMed’s central dome will experience less mechanical trauma, providing pain relief during use.
