Boardworks Hybrid Carbon/Fiberglass Stand Up Paddle, 1 piece

The Boardworks Hybrid Carbon/Fiberglass SUP Stand Up Paddle features a shaft that is ovalized for a more ergonomic feel, with a reduced diameter that fits a wide range of paddlers and greatly reduces fatigue. The handle is a comfort grip T handle that curves into the palm of your hand. It has excellent strength to weight ratio with performance flex characteristics. The blade has less surface area high up where it passes the rail, with more "meat" in the water where you need it for that extra power in every stroke. The blade width is 8.25".

When you receive your paddle, it will need to be sized and have the handle attached.  The paddle is not returnable after it has been altered. Please follow these instructions carefully:

1. Purchase some two-part epoxy. You can find it in your local drug or hardware store; the kind that comes in a syringe works well.
2. Cut the paddle two inches shorter than the desired finished length (because the handle is two inches). Important Tip: Put tape around the shaft covering the area to be cut to help prevent splintering.
3. Smooth the cut edge with sandpaper (be careful because carbon splinters are painful).
4. Mix a small amount of two-part epoxy and wet both the inside of the shaft and the part of the outside of the handle to be inserted into the shaft. Important Tip: Make sure you've got the cut where you want it before you apply epoxy.  You will not be able to adjust it later.
5. Insert the handle with the knuckle grip side facing forward, the same as the Boardworks logo on the blade.
6. Wipe off any excess epoxy.  Rest the paddle with the handle down and the blade up so the epoxy does not run down the shaft.  Allow to dry.  
7. Slide rubber casing over dried epoxy seam and use a hair dryer on high heat setting to shrink the casing around the seam.
